5 Element Acupuncture

What is 5 Element Acupuncture?

Five-Element theory is one of the major systems of thought within traditional Chinese medicine (TCM).

The Five Elements are a way to organize our natural world into five groups or patterns.

  • Wood

  • Fire

  • Earth

  • Metal

  • Water

What do the Patterns Tell Us?

These patterns provide a diagram showing how nature interacts with the body and how the different dimensions of our being impact each other. This multi-dimensional approach offers a diagnostic framework that helps recognize imbalances in the body, mind, and spirit.

How is 5 Element Different from Other Acupuncture?

Acupuncture Session

5 Element Acupuncture differs from other acupuncture practices by focusing on diagnosing and treating a patient's Causative Factor or root imbalance. Imbalance in the body is considered the cause of the condition.

The Causative Factor is determined through information provided by the body itself.  When we know where the imbalance lies, we can begin to correct it.

Each of the elements is also attached to a specific color, sound, emotion, or an odor. An experienced practitioner detects these subtle signs and identifies which element is out of balance.

An elegant system, 5 Element Acupuncture recognizes the health of each individual's body, mind and spirit must be taken into account to fully understand and treat the cause of disease. Each patient's treatment plan is as unique as they are.
